EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
Dear Members,
I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of our Association.
Each day, I witness the remarkable dedication and steadfast
courage of police leaders across the Commonwealth. These men
and women embrace challenges with integrity, hold themselves
accountable, and consistently demonstrate compassion—often
placing their own safety at risk to protect their communities. They
understand the moral and professional responsibility to reflect the
values of the people they serve, and they take pride in upholding
that duty.
Law enforcement is, at its core, a noble profession. Our members
make their communities safer, stronger, and better places to live,
work, and learn. At PCPA, we remain committed to supporting
them with the resources, information, and tools they need to deliver
exceptional policing services. Our mission is clear: to promote
excellence in law enforcement and public safety, to advocate for
police leaders, and to provide innovative programs and training
that elevate the profession.
Advocacy is a vital part of our work. This year, we provided
thoughtful feedback on draft legislation, ensuring that lawmakers
benefit from the expertise and experience of our members. We
were privileged to testify before both the Pennsylvania House and
Senate on critical policing issues, and we will continue to champion
well-crafted legislation that strengthens communities and builds
trust in law enforcement. Our collective efforts reflect a balanced
approach—addressing crime while keeping community safety at
the forefront.
Equally important has been the work of PLEAC and our commitment
to best practices and standards. The Pennsylvania Law Enforcement
Accreditation Program now encompasses 140 standards and 388
best practices, addressing the most pressing issues in modern
policing. Today, 190 agencies are accredited, with an additional
50 actively engaged in the accreditation process. Remarkably,
approximately 65% of police officers in Pennsylvania serve within
accredited agencies—demonstrating a shared commitment to
continuous improvement and effective service.
I extend my deepest gratitude to our Executive Board, committee
members, and the outstanding staff at PCPA. Their professionalism,
dedication, and support embody the very best of law enforcement
in our State.
