 2012-2022 SEASONS
 A Decade Like No Other
From being awarded second place in the prestigious American Prize competition, to facing the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic, this decade in the
Chorale’s history was marked by unprecedented
highs and lows. The stunningly beautiful Parmer Hall in Messiah University’s The Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts became the Chorale’s new home base for concerts starting in 2013. Commissioned works during these years included Bob Chilcott’s Chautauqua Requiem performed at the Chautauqua Institution in New York, and Worry Not, My Love, a piece composed in honor of an Alzheimer’s patient premiered by the Chorale in 2019. Multiple performances with the Harrisburg Symphony included the Brahms, Mozart, and Faure Requiems as well as the rarely-heard Bloch Sacred Service. The Chorale mourned the 2016 death of Linda’s treasured friend, mentor, and giant in the field of choral music, Robert
Page. In 2018, Linda received a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives honoring her distinguished career at Messiah University and lifelong dedication to the choral art.
Livestreaming of concerts began in spring 2019, expanding the Chorale’s reach far beyond the concert hall. No one ever dreamed how important the use of technology and virtual concerts would become until the Covid-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of all live performances. Utilizing both Zoom and masked in- person rehearsals enabled the Chorale to return to live singing with outdoor concerts in the spring of 2021. The Chorale celebrated its 40th Anniversary in the 2021-22 season with a commissioned work, Let the Stable Still Astonish, by Dan Forrest; the release of a new double CD, Legacy; and a planned tour of Krakow and Vienna in summer of 2022.
