Project Name: Rehabilitation of SR 92 Section 750
Firm: Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.
Owner: PennDOT District 4-0
Key Partners: Navarro & Wright Consulting Engineers, Inc.;
T Brennan Heavy Equipment, LLC
State Route 92 Section 750 involved the rehabilitation of the existing stone masonry arch
culvert over an unnamed tributary to the Susquehanna River in Falls Township, Wyoming
County, Pennsylvania. The existing 12-foot-long span structure with a timber-supported
base was originally constructed in 1905 to carry the railroad. Today, the structure carries
SR 92 and the adjacent Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad over the tributary.
Ownership of the structure is shared between PennDOT and the railroad company. It
is the earliest documented stone masonry structure in the county and was determined
eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Design and construction met
all environmental commitments for a No Adverse Effect determination. A collaborative
partnership by team members Greenman-Pedersen, Navarro & Wright Consulting
Engineers, PennDOT District 4-0 and T Brennan Heavy Equipment met all challenges.
