AECOM Technical Services, Inc.
AECOM has been a leader in developing programs within their company that address
multiple areas of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging through their formal program
development, recruiting strategies and training initiatives. Here are just a couple of
examples of what they are doing.
Their formal development program, called Sustainable Legacies Strategy, was launched
in 2022 and is dedicated to delivering a better world, which is central to their purpose
as a company. Since then, their strategy has embedded their environment, social and
governance principles into everything they do. Their vision has helped create a culture
and work environment that fully embraces inclusiveness and allows AECOM employees to
thrive, celebrate who they are, and learn from different perspectives and life experiences.
Their diverse recruiting strategies are critical to their company goals. Targeted sourcing
is one way that AECOM shares open employment opportunities. Through partnerships
and networks, AECOM is able to reach underrepresented groups. AECOM requires all
recruiters and external recruiting consultants to comply with equal opportunities legislation
in advertising and discussing AECOM’s vacancies with job seekers.
Their training initiatives include an online training system that all employees can access
and includes topics such as women at work, LGBTQ+ issues, veterans, underrepresented
communities, allyship, inclusion, microinequities, unconscious bias, and becoming an
inclusive leader.
