The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) is the deserving winner for ACEC/
PA’s Client of Distinction Award. PWSA consistently exhibits fair business practices. Their
procurement process is clear, open and equitable. They are reasonable and responsive
during negotiations and changes. Their contract provisions are fair, and they promptly
pay their invoices. PWSA has an excellent record regarding team building and partnering
with consultants. They afford non-successful firms a detailed debrief after a consultant is
selected. These debriefs are taken seriously by PWSA, and they provide detailed feedback,
both positive and negative. This feedback is extremely helpful to the unsuccessful firms
as they are able to identify areas of improvement for future submissions. PWSA has been
willing to adjust their procurement practices based on feedback from their consultant
partners. PWSA has shown through their actions that they place a high value on their
relationships and partnerships with consulting firms.
