1 NP ゅ: “at/in/on NP” (= location of existence)
One of many functions of the particle ゅ is to mark the place of where an object exists or is located in a “stative sentence,” that is, a sentence that describes a state, rather than an action. You will learn more uses of ゅ later, but here let us focus on this location of existence usage, which is schematically shown below.
