R.A.F. target maps, widely used in N.W. Europe in World War Two were also made in the C.B.I. and Pacific Theatres of operations. though the targets in Burma were smaller.
This simple single-sided tricolour target map of Mandalay Railway Station and Yards is one style used and is typical. Based on the Survey of India one-inch maps and aerial photos, it covers 12 x 15 miles and shows magnetic bearings and range circles from the target at mile intervals. These target maps were commonly reproduced by the R.E. Reproduction Sections.
