Carrying our momentum from 2023/2024
The 2023 season was without a doubt the most successful in our clubs history, which we as players, supporters, and the wider community can be extremely proud of.
Our junior club membership numbers and performances on the field were strong, a new U85's team was established and they all had a great year. All our senior men’s and women’s teams enjoyed themselves and performed well. Our Premier Men’s #2 side had a fantastic year showing immense improvement toward the later-end of the season, and to top it off our Premier #1 Mens side performed at the pinnacle of Club Rugby taking several trophies for the first time in our clubs history, including the much sought after and very hard won 'Swindale Shield' which hangs proudly in our club-rooms.
With the 2023 season finished our Junior and Senior team Management group and Committee members are all very aware of the importance of maintaining a positive momentum as we head toward the 2024 season. We are working hard in the background to maintain our current Senior Management group, player retention & recruitment, and the re-build of a new Colts team and Coaching/Management group for the 2024 season.
The Club is working towards various club improvements in the future including improving our scoreboard – raising the height and improving shelter within wet weather and progressing towards an electronic scoreboard in time. We are surveying a covered roof over the outdoor courtyard area which would provide a vastly improved sheltered space for supporters. We are also looking at a number of our internal programmes including our player welfare and coaching programmes to help our players and coaches on and off the field.
We look forward to carrying the amazing success of 2023 through to the next season, along with and your support and presence on the side lines next year!
