Wairuatanga
The spiritual world is an important part of reality, as a real value which must be held on a day-to-day basis. It is about the soul of the person.
Whanaungatanga
A relationship/group dynamic which gives consideration as to who to employ, or what action to take, may mean discussion at as many meetings as necessary to reach decisions which benefit everyone. Teamwork is an important pathway toward decisions which have good results for
all rather than a few. It is a sense of belonging, identification and collective strength through kinship and being related.
Manaakitanga
A community organisation or business should support the social objectives of its people through contribution of money, people and facilities. Employees, partners or competitors should be treated fairly and generously in all respects. It is about hospitality, kindness, loyalty, obligation, nurturing and commitment to make a strong stable unit.
Āhurutanga
It is important to create safe spaces in which to engage our clients. A culturally safe environment values difference, contribution and endears trust and comfort in participation. Practitioners are aware of organisational privilege and the need to practice from a ‘strengths based approach’.
