    Embedded objects in wounds
Foreign bodies that are clearly on the surface and not sticking to the wound may be removed. However DO NOT remove embedded objects.
HOW TO HELP
Leave embedded objects where they are as they may be plugging the wound.
Pad beside, below and around the object and apply pressure over pads to prevent direct pressure being applied over the object.

Minor wounds
HOW TO HELP
   CLEANING A MINOR WOUND:
ɠ Cover the wound and seek medical treatment if the wound looks dirty.
ɠ Clean the wound if it will not require medical treatment.
ɠ Carefully clean around wound with mild soap and water.
ɠ Clean wound with running, clean, lukewarm water. DO NOT rub the wound itself.
ɠ Dry with a clean pad.
ɠ Cover with a Band-aid type dressing or gauze pad and bandage.
  MANAGEMENT OF ALL BLEEDING:
ɠ Apply direct or indirect pressure.
ɠ Reassure the person and assist to
rest in a comfortable position.
ɠ MonitorDRSABCDregularly.
ɠ DONOTgiveanythingbymouth (including medications or alcohol).
  Closed bleeding in limbs
HOW TO HELP
   ɠ Use a cold pack and apply pressure on bruised limbs with no external bleeding.
