Family Works Resolution Service
Thank you for choosing Family Works Resolution Service, also known as Family Dispute Resolution. As you will be aware, this mediation service is designed to help parents and/or guardians reach out-of-court agreements about the care arrangements for their children.
At Family Works our aim is to make Aotearoa New Zealand the best place in the world to grow up; a place where all children are safe, families are strong and communities are connected. We work in a way that focuses on strengths, positive outcomes and giving people the skills to resolve problems themselves.
This welcome and information pack includes more detailed information about the process, some additional optional services and support and some important forms and agreements you’ll need to complete. Your Family Works mediator will discuss these with you.
Privacy agreement
To access our services, Family Works needs to collect some information from you. To enable us to collect this, you must first accept our Privacy Agreement. One of our Family Works coordinators will read you our privacy agreement when you register and confirm your acceptance. The following text is what the Family Works coordinator will recite to you.
Family Works is funded by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to provide Family Dispute Resolution. To enable you to access this service, we need to share the personal information we collect from you with MoJ. This information will be loaded onto a secure database that only people directly involved in your case are able to access. We can assure you that this information is guarded very carefully and confidentially by Family Works.
Some of the information you provide will be used for statistical and/or research purposes to help improve service delivery and for auditing purposes. In these contexts you will not be personally identified. Family Works reserves the right to share information with appropriate agencies where there is evidence of serious risk of harm to you or someone else. You have the right to see and correct your personal information that Family Works has collected.
