Gate to match wood fence designs 1-3, left-to-weather or stained gray or white.
Note: After 6/3/97, replacement concrete block walls must be replaced with concrete block walls.

Construction Notes:
• Tops must be horizontal and level with existing concrete block side walls
• Alternate height for wood fences: 2’8” below top of side walls
• The bottom of any fence cannot be more than 6” above grade
• Bracing for all fences must be horizontal
• Tops of all gates must be straight, not rounded, and level with fence top
• Post tops to be covered by the wood horizontal member; no metal post caps
• Finish of full height fence to be left-to-weather or stained white or gray
• Partial height fences must be left-to-weather
• All fences perpendicular to a unit’s rear wall shall be concrete clock walls and 6’ above the finished grade
• Wood fences and wood screens shall not be used for more than one face of an enclosure
• A wood fence or wood screen shall not be a partial continuation of a concrete block wall in the same plane, except
when used as a gate
• A concrete block wall may have a gate of either the solid wood fence or an open wood screen design. The solid wood
fence shall have a matching solid wood gate; the wood screen shall have a matching wood screen gate. A gate must be
the same height as the fence, and the gate top must be squared (not rounded)
• All gates shall be located at the end of a fence or wall
• Hardware for gates shall be galvanized and of simple design; unobtrusive appearance from the community side of the
fence. No hinges with exposed hinge flanges shall be used
• Diagonal bracing for gates shall be on the inside of the gate. If the gate is in a wood screen fence, the diagonal brace
shall be a cable with a turnbuckle for adjustment of tension.
• Wood materials shall be #1 pressure treated pine and treated with clear stain to protect the wood
• Concrete block walls shall be painted “White” or “Asteroid”, as specified in the DRB approved Hickory Cluster
standards
• All fences must be constructed with the sections flat and level, and stepped to accommodate any change in grade (the
bottom of the fence may follow the grade or be stepped; the steps should not exceed 12” at the top or bottom)
