Fences
All fence replacement, extension, removal, and/or new construction will require
completion and submission of DRB Application Form and conformance with
construction requirements of the RA Cluster Design Guidelines for fences
Color

• Weather Naturally
• Stained and sealed with a natural stain
• Sealed with a clear sealant
• Stained Cabot “Bark”
• Painted/stained to match the house siding or trim
color (not white)
Fence Design
Pre-constructed side and rear fences including gates NOT allowed
• Board on board 6’ high stepped to grade
• Installed with sections flat, level or stepped
• Bottom of fence may follow the grade or be stepped
• Steps should not exceed 12” at top or bottom of adjacent
fence panel
• Average height of 6’ and may vary from 5’6” to 6’6” to
allow for stepping on sloped conditions
• All vertical boards must be straight and plumb
• Upright post be 4” x 4” pressure treated post
• Post shall not extend more than 4” above the horizontal
top rail of the fence panels to allow for post caps
• Flat meatal caps are allowed on post
• Horizontal boards connecting the uprights be 2”x4”
pressure treated wood
• Boards will be either 1”x6” or 1” x 4” pressure treated
• Boards arranged in overlapping board on board
construction
• Top of fence must be level with sections stepped to match
the slop of the ground
• Bottom of the fence no more than 6” above grade at any
point
• Front yard fence maximum height of 5’
