Specialist Supplier to the Trade for Hydraulic Cylinders
Steerforth Sales Ltd (formed in 1976) is a specialist supplier of hydraulic cylinders. The company introduced in the late 80’s the RampartsTM concept of ready machined components for use in building cylinders. The RampartsTM range covers bore sizes from 25mm to 300mm and includes internal glands and pistons, machined tubes and rods ( up to 1500mm stroke for a number of bore sizes ) and a large variety of end fixings to meet all requirements. Also in the RampartsTM range are heavy duty components, check and over centre valves available with banjo style pipes and fittings. + rod bellows, mounting brackets and pins, solid hardened steel pin bushes, rod ends and spherical bearings.
The company offers complete standard cylinders from stock. The HFR/NFR range ( 25-100mm bore sizes up to 1m stroke ) has become the most popular “go to” industry standard. There is a selection of other styles of standard cylinder that are also available in kit form enabling rapid supply when required.
As well as welded construction cylinders Steerforth also offer tie rod style ( ISO6020/2 standard ) cylinders
+ mill type cylinders and compact cylinders for industrial applications. Typical lead time for this range is 4 weeks max. Cylinder drawings can be supplied with quotation on request ensuring accurate specification every time.
For bespoke cylinders to customer design requirements Steerforth offer a full cad 2d/3d drawing service supporting the customer in choosing what they require. Cad models are available for individual RampartsTM components as well as finished cylinders to the customer’s design. Bespoke cylinders are designed and manufactured using RampartsTM components wherever possible. This reduces the amount of machining required. Options for bespoke cylinders include linear position sensors, end of stroke inductive sensors, special non standard mountings, stainless steel material and various paint finishes etc.
The Steerforth range also includes 700 bar jacks and pumps + accessories, hydraulic motors, hand pumps, control valves and under body telescopic cylinders.
