GeoAccess
Now in their 10th year, GeoAccess have been gathering pace in Inspections and Examinations throughout the Rail Industry at an alarmingly exponential rate. A company which specialises in Asset Management, they have grown from a small 2-man business to an increasingly sizeable business with an ever-growing contract portfolio, and a healthy turnover.
Established in 2014 to address the need for inspections on difficult access sites in the rail sector, they were originally established to solve a problem in a specific niche area for one main client. However, by delivering that service at the highest possible level, they discovered that they had a unique skillset that was attractive to a much wider market. Their portfolio of clients now spans multiple market sectors across the whole of the UK, including earthworks, structures, drainage, and coastal defences, through to transmission towers, and underwater and mining assets.
With their core business focussed on Asset Management for the Railways, they supply Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists to carry out Earthworks Examinations, directly for Network Rail.
They are the sole framework supplier for Wales, Western and all of Southern, delivering earthworks exams.
With an appetite for solving difficult to access issues, their Engineers are often multi-skilled, holding IRATA roped access and confined space capability, as well as UAV Pilot licences. Nothing is too difficult or impossible for this team! With safe working practices a priority, they always strive to provide the best service they can and are constantly trying out new innovations. This has kept them at the forefront and constantly on their toes which means that they can react quickly and efficiently to changing market demands and opportunities.
Lead by Directors, Mark Coleman and David Frost, the management team take time to look at every job holistically, and by using tried and tested methods, delivering the most cost-effective solutions to suit their individual client needs. They take pride in the work that they do, and with the ability they have to tackle every job no matter how big or small.
They encourage feedback from their clients, and year on year they use this to improve, introducing new ideas. They also work with their customers to understand ecological challenges, trying to minimise their environmental impact, reduce their carbon footprint and improve on sustainability. They are genuinely trying to make a change.
With a “big hairy audacious goal” (BHAG) to be the best and to continue to work with their core values in site; the focus is to build strong foundations with their senior staff, by scaling up, and continuing to bolster their resources. The team is growing to help with the delivery of their contracts and as a result training never stops. They use a combination of specialist external consultants along with their highly experienced inhouse team. Every single day everybody is learning something new, be it on a training course, on the job, or while being mentored.
With GeoAccess now focussing their attention on future tenders, such as more of Network Rails earthworks and geotechnical assets, it will be very exciting to see what the next 10 years hold for this business?
The new Head Office in Edingale opens later in the Summer of 2023.
