Cesar Chavez Day
César Estrada Chávez was a Mexican-American farm worker, labor leader and civil rights activist. He founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962 (now the United Farm Workers Union). He was committed to improve the working conditions for the farm workers in California and several states by using nonviolent movement and his efforts have brought about social change. In 2014, President Obama proclaimed March 31st as Cesar Chavez Day to commemorate Chavez, which is also a formal holiday in California.
 St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day is recognized as a celebration of Irish and Irish-American culture. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland because he brought Christianity to the Irish people. The church established a feast day to honor him dating as far back as March 17, 1631. In the United States, people usually conduct festival parades, religious observances, meals, and beer to celebrate. People wear green attire and shamrocks during this convivial day. Feel free to wear something green this March 17th.
