T3 Relief Operations during Crisis
TAAL Volcano Eruption and COVID-19 Pandemic
Planning and Updating
I. T3 Relief Operations during Crisis
A. In light of helping others during crisis, Cavite State University-T3 Campuses were
one in this spirit by responding to the need of our displaced sectors during Taal Volcano
eruptions happened earlier in January 2020 and the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Several relief operations were organized by different campuses including our small T3
campuses.
Several families were found settled in evacuation centers when Taal Volcano
erupted. Different organizations came to help in enormous ways and for T3 campuses, our
humble way was to donate school supplies for 145 student evacuees at Matagbac
Elementary School. We believe that education should not be hampered even during
moment of disasters like this especially to children. These school supplies were collected
out from the concerted generosity of faculty members, staffs, and students through Dr.
Maria Soledad Lising Mojica, Director of International and Local Collaborations and
Linkages Office. The collected items were handed to and received by the Municipal Social
Welfare and Development Office of Alfonso, Cavite on January 25, 2020 at Matagbac
Elementary School.
In addition, through the initiative of the Central Student Governments of Tanza,
Trece Martires City and General Trias City Campuses, food packs and clothing were also
distributed to amongst 250 families in different evacuation centers.
Our relief operations continue even until this very trying times when the country has
faced un unseen enemy, a virus that leads to COVID-19. Many individuals were bound to
stay at home as ordered. This current situation is unfortunate for some because it would
mean no payout, no food for the family. Others are forced to work since they are there to
maintain security and cleanliness like our security guards and utility personnel. In bringing
out again the spirit to help these frontliners, the T3 campuses gave out sacks of rice and
canned goods to 6 security guards and 9 utility personnel, our very own frontliners in
T3 campuses.
