How to develop an efficient automated seaweed harvesting process whilst maintaining conservation by allowing regeneration of stocks. Existing automated harvesting machinery was not suited to working in a coastal environment.

The company significantly improved the efficiency of seaweed harvesting whilst maintaining sustainable stock regeneration.

Modified and improved existing machinery to prevent corrosion and abrasion caused by seawater and the rocky shorelines.
Developed spring-based mechanism to limit damage in shallow, rocky waters for the purpose of sustainably harvesting seaweed from a harsh coastal environment.
