ONE OF A KIND ART PROJECT
Earlier this year, Academy students in Alison Green’s Advanced Drawing and Painting III class created a giant drip painting, inspired by Jackson Pollock. Students swung from the alpine tower, strategically placing paint on a huge canvas that was later cut into large individual canvases. This is followed by several weeks of work, where students create amazing works of art (typically insects or other aspects of nature) on their canvas.
BRINGING HOME
THE BLUE
On Saturday, November 5, for the first time in Charger history, Albuquerque Academy won four state titles in a single day! In the spring of 2015, the school’s athletes won a total of five state championships, but that was spread out over about a week. "In 2000 and 2001, the Chargers won three state titles in the fall on the same day, but we have never accomplished a clean sweep of the Saturday of fall championships,” says Don Smith, Associate Head of School and faculty member. Congratulations to the State Champion Girls and Boys Cross-Country and Girls and Boys Soccer teams. Go Chargers!
