What is Women in STEM (WiSTEM)?
WiSTEM is a vibrant community of confident STEM leaders. Our mission? To broaden participation
in STEM fields by empowering students like you. Here’s how we do it:
1. Inspiring Curiosity: WiSTEM sparks your curiosity by exposing you to cutting-edge research,
real-world applications, and exciting opportunities. Whether you’re fascinated by robotics,
environmental science, or medical breakthroughs, we’ve got something for you!
2. Building Confidence: We believe in you! WiSTEM boosts your self-efficacy – that inner
belief that you can conquer any STEM challenge. You’ll gain confidence through hands-on
experiences, mentorship, and collaboration with like-minded peers.
3. Creating Community: You’ll connect with students who share your passion, learn from
inspiring role models, and build lifelong friendships. Together, we break down barriers
and shatter stereotypes.
What Can You Expect?

High School Programs: Our summer camps and virtual academies provide a sneak peek
into STEM college majors and career paths. Dive into hands-on experiments, meet STEM
professionals, and explore university resources. It’s a backstage pass to the STEM world!

Living Learning Community: Imagine living with other STEM enthusiasts in our Kinsolving
Residence Hall. Late-night study sessions, brainstorming ideas, and forming study groups –
it’s all part of the WiSTEM experience with peer coaches cheering you on!

iConnect Networking Events: Rub shoulders with corporate partners, industry experts, and
STEM professionals. Your next internship or job opportunity might be just a conversation away.

WiSTEM Externship: Earn digital micro-credentials to showcase your expertise to future
employers while gaining practical career skills and exploring data science, design thinking,
AI, semiconductors, and more.

Outreach Ambassadors: Pay it forward! Join our Outreach Ambassador Team and inspire
the next generation of STEM leaders. You’ll engage with the community, lead hands-on
STEM activities, and ignite young minds.
