Pay it forward with RWE and Mental Health Month
In May, the Electrical Industries Charity launched their pay it forward initiative to celebrate Mental Health Month. Much like how you may buy the person behind you in the queue their coffee as a gesture of goodwill, the EIC encouraged sector colleagues to donate to an industry mate in need. Charity friend RWE Generation UK supported this initiative within the workplace and collected £338 to support those in need. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of those who paid it forward in celebration of Mental Health Month.
East Midlands ECA’s dig deep and donate despite summer ball postponement
Each year, the ECA East Midlands branch donate to the Charity at their yearly summer ball. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, the ball has had to be postponed for two years running. Although the ball has been postponed, this didn’t stop ECA East Midlands members digging deep
to support sector colleagues and the EIC. Together, they have raised £2,160 for those who need our assistance, a phenomenal total for which we are so appreciative. £2,160 can fund 36 nights of emergency housing, 28 food vouchers for struggling families or 72 emergency heating grants. Thanks so much to the ECA East Midlands and all their members for their ongoing generosity.
GreenBrook Electrical walk to raise life-changing funds
While we may have been unable to enjoy each other’s homes for part of the year, many industry members have enjoyed getting out and about raising funds for the Electrical Industries Charity on their travels. GreenBrook Electrical, keen supporters of the Charity, have taken advantage of the sunnier weather and raised £1,000 through stepping their way across the counties. Stepping out for the EIC has helped to improve
fellow sector colleagues’ lives and GreenBrook Electrical’s employees’ wellbeing too. A massive congratulations and thanks to all those who took part.
RWE Supply & Trading stand down to raise funds
RWE Supply & Trading have continued to support the Charity in various ways over this difficult period
and hosted another Charity Stand Down Hour to assist EIC and the sector colleagues we support.
RWE Supply and Trading employees donated one hour of their pay to the Charity and have
made a huge difference to those who we support. Together they raised £586 for
industry members who need assistance, a great total! Thank you to RWE Supply & Trading for standing down in support
of EIC. If you would like to find out more about the Charity Stand Down Hour, click here:

A legacy gift which can help to continue the EIC legacy
Giving a gift in memory to the Electrical Industries Charity is a thoughtful way to give to those in our industry who need a hand up. Thank you to the family of Vivian Leary, who have donated to the EIC in memory of Vivian. We’d like to say a huge thanks to them and those who donated in her memory.
