7. Eat Out To Help Out
Eat Eat Out To Help Out was met with mixed reactions. The government’s idea generated demand into the economy to eat out and help hospitality. In the process of doing so, raised revenue for the treasury in VAT and Drinks Duty and saved on furlough costs. The challenges around the administration and such high demand for the program presented significant difficulties for hospitality managing customer demand, keeping people safe, and dealing with delays due to the sheer volume of customers. Those businesses that participated tried something new and innovated to attract customers back. Businesses were positive about the idea of creating a sustainable version that could be managed. The scheme was seen as positive in attracting customers back to hospitality.

The growth of affordable table service apps led to a more organised approach to accepting table orders, adhering to social distancing and created new opportunities to engage with customers, upsell more items and manage demand.
10. Business Promotion Apps
More business promotion apps started to grow such as Roam Local as a way for local businesses to manage their listings and become visible within their local town.
