NEREDEN ÇIKTI BU SEVGİLİLER GÜNÜ?
Sevgililer Günü’nün tarihçesi, 3’üncü yüzyılda Aziz Valen- tine’nin gizlice kıydığı nikahlara dayanıyor. M.S. 3’üncü yüz- yılda Roma İmparatoru Claudius II, ordusunu güçlendirmek için genç erkeklerin evlenmesini yasaklamıştır. Rivayete göre bu yasağa karşı gelen Aziz Valentine, gizli nikahlar dü- zenleyerek gençleri evlendirmeye devam etmiştir. İmpara- torun koyduğu kurallara karşı gelmeyi canıyla ödeyen Aziz Valentine M.S. 270 yılında 14 Şubat’ta idam edilmiştir. Bu nedenle her yıl 14 Şubat’ta Sevgililer günü kutlanmaktadır.
Günümüzde ise sevgililerin birbirine hediyeler aldığı, sürprizler hazırladığı bir gün olarak varlığını sürdürmektedir. 14 Şubat’ta herkesin elinde kırmızı bir gül görmek mümkün. Yüzde gülücükler, bir mutluluk tablosudur adeta sokaklar.
Tüm duygular anlık artık günümüzde. Her şeyden kolay bıkar, vazgeçer bir topluma dönüştük. Nezaket, hoş görü, saygı ve sevgi... Bunlar unuttuğumuz kavramlar. Şimdi sor- sanız insanlara, herkes âşık, herkes ölüyor...
WHERE DID THIS VALENTINE’S DAY COME FROM?
The history of Valentine’s Day dates back to the 3rd century when St. Valentine solemnizes a marriage in se- crecy. In the 3rd century AD the Roman Emperor Clau- dius II forbade the marriage of young men to strengthen his army. Rumor has it that St. Valentine, who was against this ban, kept marrying young people by organizing secret weddings. St. Valentine, who paid with his life to disobey the rules of the emperor, was executed in 270 AD on 14 February. Therefore, Valentine’s Day is celebrated every year on February 14th.
Nowadays, it continues to exist as a day when the lovers receive gifts and prepare surprises. On February 14th, ev- eryone is seen with a red rose. The smiley faces depicts a picture of happiness on the streets.
All emotions are momentary nowadays. We quit every- thing easily as a society. Courtesy, kindness, respect, and love ... These are the concepts we’ve forgotten. Now if you ask people, everyone is in love, everyone is dying from love...
