Fashion Retail’s Giant LC Waikiki in South Africa!
Global Turkish fashion retailer, LC Waikiki, opens its first store in South Africa on July 6th, 2018, in Pretoria. LC Waikiki, operating its own stores in South Africa, aims to open three stores this year and until the end of 2018.
Stating that they are extremely happy to enter the South Af- rican market, as one of the prominent economies of Af- rica, International Retail As- sistant General Manager, İlker Hacıoğlu declared that LC Waikiki allows its customers to enjoy fashion in 40 countries, in accordance with LC Waikiki’s mission; “everyone deserves to dress well”. Hacıoğlu ex- plained that LC Waikiki is a big family with 42,000 employees and operates more than 850 stores in three continents of the world, continued:
“Before entering a new market, we, as LC Waikiki, consider the economic, political stability, expectations of customers in terms of fashion and price, the sufficiency of the retail market, and appropriate store open- ing. We can sincerely say that
South Africa has the highest scores about these items that we mentioned, hence, this is an exciting market for us.”
Stating that they have com- pleted the recruitment for the first store to be opened in Men- lyn Mall, Hacıoğlu declared that they are employing on average 35 to 40 employees for each store and planning to recruit 120 employees for the first three stores to be opened.
Hacıoğlu, highlighting that Af- rica is a prominent market for the brand, cited that this ad- venture that started with Kenya last year and that this expansion would create op- portunities for the new expan- sion in neighboring countries. Stating that they serve whole family members with the lat-
est fashion, the best price and highest quality, Hacıoğlu re- vealed that you can start each day anew with LC Waikiki and continued as follows; “Our cus- tomers visiting our store may purchase t-shirts at a price starting with 129 ZAR, jeans at a price starting with 299 ZAR, and shoes at a price starting with 129 ZAR, all containing LC Waikiki’s quality. First of all, LC Waikiki’s product range starts with the newborn and is wide enough for many age groups, needs as well as the different lifestyles, thus, the range may fulfill every need of clothing and fashion including accessories, shoes, outwear and underwear. Hence, we may say that we tar- get every age group.”
