Ortaokul ve liseli gençlere DJ workshop eğitimi veri- yorsunuz. Bize biraz bundan bahsedebilir misiniz?
✔ DJ Setup’ın ses sistemi ile bağlantılarını ve kabloları ta- nıtıp kurulumunu, DJ Setup’ı nasıl kontrol edebilecekleri- ni, sevdikleri müzik türleri üzerine şarkıları mixlemeyi ve geçiş yapmayı öğretiyorum. Farklı müzik türleri üzerine yaptığım dersler sayesinde, arşiv yapmalarına ve müzikal kültürlerini geliştirmelerine destek oluyorum. Ritim duy- guları gelişiyor ve yeni çıkan şarkıları da takip edebilme şansına sahip oluyorlar. Son dönemin popüler mesleği DJ’liğe gençler çok ilgi gösteriyor. Derslerde eğlenip dans ediyorlar. Yoğun ders programları arasında bir moti- vasyon aracı olduğunu düşünüyorum. Özellikle mezuniyet balolarında DJ Setup’ın başında
olduklarını görmek onları, ailelerini ve beni çok mutlu ediyor.
Düğün müziğinin bir modası var mı? Kişiye özel bir planlama yapılıyor mu?
✔ Bana göre düğün müziğinin bir mo-
dası yok. Kişilere özel konsept belirle-
mek daha doğru olur. Gelin ve damatla
bir toplantı yapıp, neleri isteyip neleri is-
temedikleri konusunda fikir alışverişi yapı-
yoruz. Giriş şarkısı, ilk dans, pasta şarkısı ve çi-
çek atma seremonisi için önerilerde bulunuyorum. Elbette iki tarafında nereli olduklarını öğrenip, düğün sırasında yöresel müzikleri de sürpriz olarak çalıyorum. Bir orkestra ya da DJ ile çalışmak arasında en temel fark şu. Orkestradan isteyeceğiniz bir şarkı repertuvarların- da yoksa hemen çalamaz ama gelişen teknoloji saye- sinde DJ isteğiniz şarkıyı uygun yerde hemen çalabilir. Düğünden önce mutlaka DJ ya da orkestra ile mutlaka yüz yüze konuşun. Bir liste vermek yerine, istediğiniz ve istemediğiniz türleri belirtip hünerlerini sergilemesini bekleyin.
You provide DJ workshop training to young people that study in the middle and high schools. Can you tell us a little about this?
✔ I introduce DJ Setup’s connections to the sound system and cables and how to control it, how to control DJ Setup, mix and switch songs on their favorite music genre. Thanks to the lessons I have done on different types of music, I support them in archiving and developing their musical cul- ture. They develop the sense of rhythm and they have the chance to follow new songs. Young people are very inter- ested in DJing, which is a popular profession of the recent
period. They dance and have fun in class. I think it is a motivational tool among the intensive curric- ulum. It makes them, their families and me very happy to see that they are in charge of
DJ Setup particularly at their prom.
Is there any fashion for wedding mu- sic? Is there a personalized planning?
✔According to me, wedding music is not fashionable. It is more accurate to define a personalized concept. We have a meeting with the bride and groom and exchange ideas about what they want and what they don’t want. I make suggestions for the introduction song, the first dance, the cake song and the flower throwing ceremony. Of course, I find out where they are from and I play local music as a surprise during the wedding. The main difference between working with an or- chestra or DJ is that. If the orchestra doesn’t have the song in their repertoire, the orchestra wouldn’t be able to play it, but thanks to developing technology DJ can play the song immediately in the appropriate place. Always speak face to face with the DJ or the orchestra before the wedding. In- stead of giving a list, specify the genre you want and don’t
want, and then wait for them to show off their skills.
