Vadi Rum
Ayın yer yüzündeki izdüşümünü görmek isteyen varsa, Vadi Rum’a, yani namı diğer “Ay Vadisi”ne gitmeli. Dünya- nın en merak edilen yeri Ay Vadisi egzotik ve Ürdün tarzı yöresel yaşamların görülebileceği en iyi yerlerden biri.
Vadi Rum; Ürdün’ün güneyindeki Akabe’nin 60 kilometre doğusunda yer alan kumtaşı ve granit kaya içinde oluşmuş bir vadi. Ürdün’deki en büyük vadi burası.
Rum Vadisi, tarih öncesi çağlardan beri birçok insan kül- türü tarafından yerleşim görmüş ve Nebatiler’de dahil ol- mak üzere pek çok kültür, kaya resimleri, duvar yazıları ve tapınaklar şeklinde izlerini bırakmış. Bu yazılar, resimler aradan binlerce yıl geçmiş olmasına rağmen halâ kayaların üzerinde görülebiliyor. Bu resimler, şekiler bile turisti bura- ya çekecek en önemli unsulardan. Sahip olduğu zenginlik- leri sayesinde Rum Vadisi, 2011 yılında Unesco tarafından dünya mirası listesine kabul edilmiş.
Wadi Rum
If you want to see the projection of the moon on the earth, you should go to Wadi Rum, in other words, “the Valley of the Moon”. One of the best places in the world, about which the people are curious, is the Valley of the Moon where ex- otic and Jordanian local lifestyles can be observed.
Wadi Rum; a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan, 60 km. to the east of Aqaba. It is the largest wadi in Jordan.
Wadi Rum has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures–including the Nabataeans–leaving their mark in the form of rock paintings, graffiti, and temples. These writings can still be observed on the rocks, although thousands of years have passed. These paintings constitute the most important elements to at- tract tourists here. Thanks to its richness, UNESCO has ac- cepted the Wadi Rum in 2011 as a World Heritage Site.
