Filler... Afrika’nın olmazsa olmaz koca, dev canlıları. Filler ol- dukça duygusal, zeki ve çalışkan hayvanlar ama burada şanslılar. Asya’daki gibi kullanılmıyorlar. Doğal yaşam alanlarında hayat- larını sürüyorlar. Günde 200 litreye yakın su tüketip bol bol ot yiyorlar. Aslanlar çok zor durumda kalırlar ise fil avlıyorlar ama genelde file pek yanaşmıyorlar.
Cipimizle ilginç Afrika bitkilerinin, ağaçlarının bulunduğu ara- zide yol alırken kaşımıza bol bol antiloplar çıkıyor. İlginç, adını ilkkez duyduğumuz sayısız antilop görüyoruz. Afrika’nın özelliği bu zaten. Vahşi doğası. İlginçtir ki dünyada en bakir, en el değ- memiş tabiatın adresi Afrika. Bu nedenle vahşi doğayı halâ bu- rada görebiliyoruz. Dünya var olduğundan beri, tabiatın ender bozulmadıgı yerlerden burası. Binlerce yıl önce nasılsa halâ aynı özgünlüğü korumaya devam eden bir kıta burası.
Cip safarimizi bir sürü hayvan görerek tamamlıyoruz ama daha bitmedi. Burada daha yapılacak pek çok aktivite var. Şimdi bu vahşi doğada atla safari yapma vakti.
At Safari
Bu vahşi doğada nasıl at ile safari yapılır bana da çok ilginç gel- di. Ve hiç kaçırmadan atlıyorum koca bir ata. Bana en uysal at diye verildi ama sanırım Afrika’nın en vahşi ve hareketli atıydı. Rehberimizle beraber Afrika’nın sonsuz düzlüklerinde aslanla- rın, çitaların arasında böyle kolay yem olabilecek bir hayvanla gezmek bana oldukça heyecan veriyordu. Belli başka bölgelere aslanların her ne kadar gelmediği soylense de bana hiç inandırıcı gelmedi. Çünkü biz hayvanların evine girmiştik. At safari yapar- ken karşımıza su aygırları, gergedanlar çıkıyor. Tabiatın içinde, suların üstünden atla geçmek, o doğayı hissetmek bana inanıl- maz güzel keyi i geldi. Burada ayrıca ATV’lerle de safari yapma imkânı var. Macera, heyecan ve adrenalin için de muhakkak sa- fari yapmak gerekli.
Güney Afrika’da yapacak gezecek, görecek çok yer var. Me- sela bu gezilecek yerlerden biri de Hermanus Kasabası. Balina- ların gözlemlendiği bir kasaba burası. Vakti zamanında Hollan- dalılar’ın kurduğu ve bugünde halâ emekli Avrupalılar’ın yaşam sürdüğü bir kasaba. Tertemiz, yemyeşil, düzenli yaşam alanları, geniş yolları, temiz bakımlı peyzajı ile burası ve diğer kasabalar bize yer yer Avrupa’da yer yer de Amerika’da gibi hissettiriyor.

Elephants... Big guys of the Africa... they are pretty emotion- al, smart and hardworking; and they are lucky here. They are not “used” as they are in Asia... They live in their natural envi- ronment. They consume 200 Lt of water every day and eat a lot of plants. Lions hunt elephants if they are really in bad situation, but generally they put a distance with these big guys.
When we are on our way to the interesting wild African plants and trees, there are plenty of antelopes. Interestingly, we see antelopes that we have heard for the rst time. That’s what the Africa is about: wild nature. Interestingly, Africa is the address of the most virgin, untouched nature in the world. For this rea- son, we can still see the wild creature here, since the begin- ning of the world. this is where the nature rarely deteriorates. Somehow this is a continent that continues to maintain the same authenticity of thousands of years ago.
We complete our jeep safari by seeing many animals. Yet, it is not over! There are many activities to be done here. It is time to make horse safari in this wild nature!
Horse Safari
That sounded interesting to me to make horse safari in such a wild nature! And I just jumped on a great horse. He was giv- en to me as a very peaceful one but it was, I guess, the most wild and restless horse of the Africa. It was very exciting for me to travel with an animal that could be such an easy bait be- tween the lions and the cheetah, along with our guide, on the African eternity ats. It was not convincing to me that lions did not come to some particular regions. We entered the animals’ house. When we were on the safari, we saw rhinos and hippos. It was incredibly beautiful and enjoyable to me to pass on the water in the nature, to feel that nature. There is also the oppor- tunity to make safaris with ATVs. It is a must to make safari for adventure, excitement and adrenalin.
There are many places to see in South Africa. One of them is Hermanus town, where whales are observed. Once upon a time, Dutch built that town and still retired Europeans live there. It is clean, green and regular with large roads, and great landscaping. This town feels like a European or American town.
South Africa is a unique address to go for a holiday with chil- dren. You should reserve at least 7 days here. Cape Town is a place, reached in 9 hours and is warm all year round. It does not require visa from Turkish citizens. I say take your summer clothes when you go. Do not forget a ne coat for protection from the air conditioners.
