Sosyal medyada annlerin, anne adaylarının ve anne olmak isteyenlerin severek takip ettiği Melina’s Mom’ın hikayesi çok başka... 48 ülkeye bebek ürünle- ri ihraç eden bir firmanın ihracat müdürü iken, büyük bir aşk yaşadığı eşi Uğur’la evlenir; çocuk sahibi ol- mak ister; çocukluk hayali anne olmaktır. İşte, tam bu zamanlarda zorlu; ama umut dolu bir süreç başlar... Umut ettiğimiz şeylere kavuşmak bazen zaman ala- bilir; bazen zorlaşabilir; ama imkansız değildir. Merve Öztürk, bize mucizenin hikayesini anlatıyor...
Merve Öztürk kimdir; sizi biraz tanıyabilir miyiz?
1980 doğumluyum; yengeç burcuyum. Bilgi Üniversi- tesi Halka İlişkiler Bölümü’nden onur belgesiyle mezun oldum. İletişimi seven biriyim. Meslek hayatıma üniversi- teden mezun olduktan sonra önemli iletişim ajansların- da çalışmaya başlayarak adım attım. Daha sonra, radikal bir değişiklik yaparak kendi aile şirketimizde çalışmaya karar verdim. 48 ülkeye bebek ürünleri üretip, ihraç eden bir firmanın önce ihracat sorumlusu, daha
sonra da ihracat müdürü oldum. Hayatım mesleki ve sosyal anlamda harika gider- ken, büyük bir aşk yaşadığım eşim Uğur’la tanışıp, 2008 yılında evlendim.
Melina’nın hikayesini çok merak ediyoruz; bize biraz bahsedebilir misiniz?
Melina’nın hikayesi, aslında benim ço-
cukluk hayallerime kadar uzanıyor. Kü-
çükken oyuncak bebeklerimle oynarken
bile, “Büyüyünce kendi kızıma şöyle yapa-
cağım, böyle giydireceğim.” gibi cümleler
kurarmışım. E, hal böyle olunca da evlen-
dikten sonra bu hayalimi gerçekleştirmek
için beni bu kadar zorlu bir yolcuğun bek-
lediğini bilemeden hamile kalmak istedim.
Sonra da hikayemizin asıl kısmı yazılmaya
başladı. Normal yollardan çocuğumuz
olamıyordu ve bu yüzden tüp bebek de-
nemeye karar verdik; ama ne yazık ki beni burada da kolay olmayan bir dönem bekliyordu. Her tüp bebek de- nemesinden sonra anne olacağımın hayalini kurup, dok- torun bir cümlesiyle bunun defalarca yerle bir olmasına şahit oldum. Yaşım ilerliyordu, arkadaşlarım çocuk sahi- bi oluyordu ve ben hem ruhsal hemde bedensel anlamda kötüye gidiyordum. Arkadaşlık ilişkilerim bozuluyordu. Eşim ve ailemle bile arama mesafe koyuyordum. Uzunca yıllar birçok kayıptan ve negatif denemeden sonra ancak dördüncü tüp bebek denemesinde kızıma kavuşabildim. “Melina’s Mom” hikayesinin kahramanına, yani kızıma kavuşma hikayem özetle böyle.
A STORY OF HOPE: WHILE WAITING FOR YOU
The story of Melina’s Mom, who is followed closely in social media by mothers, mothers-to-be and those who want to be mother, is very unusual... While she was ex- port manager of a company exporting baby products to 48 countries, she marries her husband Uğur, after fall- ing in love. She wants to have a child, as her childhood dream was to be a mother. Here, it starts a challenging but hopeful process. Sometimes, it takes a while to reach what we hope for; sometimes it may become di cult, nevertheless, it is not impossible. Merve Öztürk, tells us the story of a miracle...
Who is Merve Öztürk; can you tell about yourself?
I was born in 1980, my astrological sign is cancer. I grad- uated from Public Relations Department of Bilgi Univer- sity with a certi cate of honor. I am a big fan of commu- nication. After graduating from university, I started my carrier by working in major communication agencies. Later, I decided to make a radical change and to work in our own family business. I became the export supervisor,
later on, export manager of the company, which exports baby products to 48 coun- tries. While my life was going great in a professional and social way, I met my hus- band Uğur, and got married in 2008 after falling in love.
We are very curious about Melina’s story; could you please tell us the story?
Melina’s story, in fact, dates back to my childhood dreams. Even when I was play- ing with my dolls, I was saying “I am going to do it to my daughter, I am going to dress my daughter like that.” etc. Therefore, I wanted to get pregnant after getting mar- ried, without knowing that a challenging journey was expecting me. Then, the cru- cial part of our story began. We could not have a child naturally, so we decided to try
an in vitro fertilization; but unfortunately, a challenging period was expecting me here as well. After every trial, I dreamed about being a mother and witnessed my dream to collapse with a single sentence of the doctor. I was get- ting older, my friends were having children, and I was get- ting worse both mentally and physically. My friendships were deteriorating. I was feeling distant to my husband and family. After many years of failure and negative trials, I was pregnant after 4th trial of in vitro fertilization. This is the summary of my reunion with my daughter, hero of the ‘Melina’s Mom’ story.
