“Tatile gideceğim, evim tadilata girecek; ama çiçekle- rimi emanet edecek bir yer yok! Ne yapayım?” diye dü- şünenlerdenseniz, size iyi bir haberimiz var. Bundan 43 yıl önce kurulan Cem Botanik Garden, çiçeklerinize hem otel hem de hastane hizmeti veriyor. Gözünüz gibi baktı- ğınız, üzerine titrediğiniz çiçeklerinizi tatile giderken ya da hastalandıklarında, emin ellere bırakabilirsiniz. Peki ama nasıl? Bitkiler hastalandıklarında ne tür tedaviler uygulanıyor? Bitki otelinde konaklama maliyeti nedir?

Cem Botanik Garden’ın kuruluş hikayesini sizden dinleyebilir miyiz?
Cem Botanik, 1974 yılında tekstil işinde faaliyet gös- teren; fakat talihsiz bir kaza sonucu işini tamamen bırak- mak zorunda kalıp, sadece hobi maksatlı çalışmak zo- runda kalan Cem Bey’in babası Muza er Şirin tarafından “Cem Çiçek Bahçesi” adında Suadiye’de kuruldu. Birkaç saksı ve bitki ile başlayıp ufak naylon serada kendi evinin bahçesinde üretim yaparak düzenini yürütürken, Cem Şi- rin de 8 yaşında, okul yıllarında babasının yanında çalışa- rak ticarete atıldı.
Siz bu aileye nasıl dahil oldunuz? Bize biraz kendi- nizden de bahsedebilir misiniz?
Cem Bey ile 1982 Fen Fakültesi Biyoloji Bölümü’nde tanıştık; 2. sınıfta evlendik ve kendimi bir anda işin içinde buldum. Üstelik, her zaman hayatın her alanında iki iyi or- tak olduğumuz için iş yaşamında da birbirimizi hiç farkın- da olmadan tamamladık. Sonuçta toprak, bitkiler, yani, doğa... Ekolojik dengeyi koruyarak var olanı yaşatmak, çevre bilincini sürekli geliştirerek bir marka olmanın yolu- nu aralamak. Severek, zevkle çalışacağım, kadın eli değ- mesi gereken bir iş, evlilik ile birlikte mucizeler yaratmamı bekliyordu.
Türkiye’nin ilk bitki hastanesi Cem Botanik bünye- sinde değil mi? Bize biraz bundan bahsedebilir misiniz?
Yeşil dostlarımıza, tedavi amaçlı çözüm üretmek bir müddet bizim himayemizde olması adına hastaneyi kur- duk. Yani bitkiler için de aynı insanlar gibi hastaneye gelip yatış sağlanıyor ve tedavisi hastane serasında yapılıyor. Sonuçta bitkiler de birer canlı evimizin, bahçemizin de- ğerli bireyleri. Yaprak dökmesi, goncalarının açmaması, bitki zararlılarının görülmesi, vitamin eksikliği, budama, toprak değişimi gibi belki de hiç farkında olmadığımız;

Can you please tell us how Cem Botanik Garden was founded?
Cem Botanik was founded in Suadiye in 1974 as “Cem Cicek Bahcesi” by Muza er Sirin, father of Mr. Cem, who started this as a hobby when he had to stop working be- cause of an unfortunate accident he had while doing tex- tile business. He started with a few ower pots and plants and produced plants in the nylon green house in the gar- den of his house; Cem was 8 years old and he started work- ing with his father during school years.
How did you become a member of this family? Can you please tell about yourself?
I met Cem in 1982 while studying at Biology Depart- ment in the Faculty of Science; we got married at 2nd grade and I suddenly found myself in the middle of this business. As we have always been good partners in every aspect of life, we supported each other seamlessly in busi- ness life, too. In the end of the day, it is about soil, plants and nature... It is about protecting the ecological balance, protecting life, improving the environmental awareness and searching ways to become a brand. A business I would deal with by adding love, woman touch and joy expected me to create miracles after my marriage.
The rst plant hospital of Turkey is a part of Cem Botanik, isn’t it? Can you please tell about this hospital? We founded the hospital to nd treatment solutions
and accommodate green friends for a while. Plants are brought and admitted to hospital just like it is done with people and the treatment is applied in the green house. After all, plants have a life and they are important members of our household and gardens. Falling leaves, non-bloom- ing buds, pests, vitamin de ciency, pruning, changing soil, etc. are things we don’t always realize but requiring our
