Operation Defend Israel
Between 10-20 May, over 4,300 rockets were fired indiscriminately by Iran-backed Hamas and other Gaza-based terror groups towards civilian areas in Israel. CUFI supporters were quick to respond to our action call with thousands of emails being sent to MPs. It is always really important that parliamentary representatives hear the truth, especially with such a strong anti-Israel narrative portrayed by some of the media and on the streets. With your help we were able to make a real impact.

from Christians. Over the last century Christian Zionists have increasingly shown their support for Israel and the Jewish people, and our prayer is that this baton of Christian Zionism is passed on to the next generation. (See “Concern for the younger generation” opposite).
The Bible teaches us that the nations will turn against Israel in the end times and the evidence for this is all around us. We also know that many Christians will turn away from Biblical truth.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Colonel Kemp tells CUFI: “No other country would tolerate thousands of rockets being fired”
In an interview with CUFI UK, Colonel Richard Kemp defended Israel’s right to defend itself from thousands of rockets saying Hamas is acting illegally and immorally and that some of the media are complicit.
Colonel Kemp explained that there is no equivalence between Israel’s and Hamas’s actions and that media comments accusing Israel of a disproportionate response are “wrong” and “disgraceful”.
Colonel Kemp, former commander of the British Armed Forces in Afghanistan, spoke to CUFI UK’s Executive Director Des Starritt in the middle of the 11-day conflict, sharing his insight and expertise from his military and intelligence background.

including the “spectacular” operation by the IDF on Hamas’s underground tunnel network, which he thinks “will be studied by military tacticians for decades to come.” The former commander also explained how terror group Hamas commits a double war crime by indiscriminately aiming at civilian areas in Israel and embedding their operations in dense civilian areas in Gaza.

CUFI’s Alastair Kirk defended Israel on regional BBC radio after an anti-Israel demo in Swindon. “Israel as a sovereign, democratic state has a duty to defend itself against attacks. Can you imagine if this was the UK being bombarded with rockets from across our borders? We would have the right to defend ourselves.”
