Pray for Christians, Jews and other minorities where there is persecution
The Coronavirus affects all people regardless of their background, but we must recognise that for those living in countries with lower medical resources the threat is even higher. Similarly, those living in countries with poorer human rights are also at risk. In Iran, for example, the regime has temporarily released some 85,000 prisoners, including political prisoners, in an effort to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, but has refused
to free many Iranian Christians jailed
for practising their faith. There are other countries where if the virus was to spread, Christians and Jews could be last in line to receive proper treatment and supplies.
Let us therefore be mindful of Galatians 6:10, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
PRAYER POINTS
• Lord, I pray for all those living in places around the world where prejudice and persecution exists. Strengthen and comfort those who need it at this time.
