the sin of arrogance given by Paul so many centuries ago. Instead of appreciating the roots of their faith, Christians have shamed, oppressed, and dismissed the Jewish people as “for- saken” by God. In arrogance, Christians have reasoned that God has abandoned the Jewish people and replaced them with the church, His “new Israel.”
This dangerous doctrine is called “Replacement Theology.”
THE DANGERS OF REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY
Replacement Theology, also called “Supersessionism,” is the view that the church has superseded or replaced Israel in the plan of God as God’s chosen people, the recipients of God’s blessings, and the heirs of the covenant promises. This
