Israeli leaders have repeatedly shown their willingness to make painful concessions for peace, but Palestinian leaders have walked away from every offer, and continue to reject Israel’s basic right to exist as a Jewish state. Thus, the Palestinian lead- ership continue to reject their own people’s independence.
