W
elcome to Issue 29 of
Christians United for Israel
UK’s Torch magazine.
For more than two years,
Christians have been praying with the
Jewish community for the return of
all the Israeli hostages held captive in
Gaza. We have stood as onlookers upon
something beyond our control, but
we have not remained silent. We have
fervently spoken out; stood alongside
the Jewish people; and resisted the
attempts to compromise in our
standing with Israel.
At the time of this magazine going
to print, there are still bodies of
hostages that have yet to be returned
by Hamas; but we are thankful that all
living hostages are now home. In this
magazine we share the moving story of
Avinatan Or and Noa Argamani – two
sweethearts who were torn apart by
Hamas’s brutality on October 7th. Many
will be familiar with the footage of Noa
on the back of a motorcycle as she was
snatched by Hamas into Gaza, painfully
watched by her boyfriend Avinatan,
who was marched away by terrorists.
Amid the trauma of being captive and
suffering their own losses; their story
is one of courage, resilience and hope.
It is just one account of thousands of
families whose lives were turned upside
down on October 7th, 2023. Their
experiences must continue to be retold.
We must continue to expose the evil of
the enemies of Israel whilst celebrating
the life and hope that Israel represents.
Considering how the evil
perpetrated by Hamas has been well-
documented, it is unbelievable how the
events of October 7th have fuelled a
rise in antisemitism globally, including

here in the UK. Our article ‘Summer
of Antisemitism’ provides examples of
Jew-hatred carried out over the past
few months – some of these stories
have not received the media coverage
that they require. Just as alarming is
the trends that indicate when these
antisemitic incidents occur. This should
serve as a wake-up call to us all.
We also continue our ‘Debunking
Replacement Theology’ series with the
fifth part, titled, ‘The LIE of the Land’.
We present four different misguided
attitudes towards the Land of Israel
that the Church has adopted due to
the false teaching that the Church has
replaced Israel. These four attitudes
are seen across a broad spectrum of
Christianity – even sometimes for
conflicting reasons – but they all seek
to undermine Israel’s rightful ownership
of the Land, as promised to them by
Almighty God as an eternal inheritance.
One of these attitudes can be described
as Palestinianism – an increasing trend
among some churches that have
forsaken Biblical truth about Israel.
In presenting these trends, we hope
you will be emboldened to stand firm
in what God clearly says in His Word
concerning the Land He has chosen as a
heritage for His people to possess.
I hope you enjoy reading this latest
issue and feel encouraged in your
stand with Israel. Thank you for your
continued support for CUFI UK.
