MAKING A STAND FOR BRITAIN AND ISRAEL
At Christians United for Israel we are dedicated to defending Israel and the Jewish people. This summer we have also had the opportunity to stand up for Britain and our Judeo-Christian values whilst at the same time defend Israel.
Our latest campaign started on 31 August, when I was called out of a CUFI Team meeting to take an urgent call. I was informed that the former Grand Mu i of Jerusalem was coming to the UK in just 2 weeks and that he would be meeting MPs in Parliament.
I returned to my meeting and spoke with the team to let them know the situation. We were unanimous that Sabri was not a welcome figure in our country, let alone in the Palace of Westminster. We determined that something must be done, but as it was already the end of the working day we agreed to address the situation in the morning.
However, nobody could settle for such a delay and independent of each other, our small team got to work at home. By 11pm that evening, following numerous internal communications, the team had carried out extensive research into Sabri, unearthed key information from his past, written and published articles and started a petition to stop him entering the country. Early the next morning a CUFI press release was circulated to the mainstream media.
I want to give credit to our team. Their dedication to the task at hand meant they could not rest that evening without mounting a su icient response to Sabri’s visit. And, as you will read in this update, God blessed the work of their hands. In fact without the CUFI team, and of course the amazing response of our supporters, I believe Sabri’s visit would have gone ahead unchallenged.
We had further opportunities to defend
Israel and Britain this summer when Erick Stakelbeck came to the UK to film a two-part special for CUFI’s ‘The Watchman’ television programme that airs on TBN in America.
Erick has his finger on the pulse and used his visit here to address key issues that Britain is facing, including the threat of radical Islamic terror. I had the opportunity to be interviewed for the programme and to share my thoughts on the resurgence of Christian Zionism in the UK, of which CUFI is at the forefront.
CUFI is highly active on social media, raising awareness, spreading news and running successful campaigns. Our mailing activity ensures high quality printed resources are being circulated to an ever wider audience of Christian activists. The CUFI website is seeing increased visits by those looking for the truth about Israel and the stories behind the biased news. All of these activities are making an impact.
I am also pleased to announce that CUFI UK has just launched Daughters for Zion (DfZ) in the UK.
Daughters for Zion is a Christian prayer network for individuals and groups, both men and women, to join together and pray for Israel, the Jewish people and key issues a ecting Britain and Christianity. We also need your prayer support for the work of Christians United for Israel.
Psalm 122:6-8 tells us that as we pray for Israel our nation will prosper. We know that the key to Britain being blessed is first to bless Israel. I encourage you to join the Daughters for Zion prayer network on our website (www.cufi.org.uk/dfz) to connect together with likeminded Christians and join together in prayer.
We live in a highly connected world where the hatred that starts by attacking the Jewish people doesn’t
end with them alone. The ideology that threatens Israel is the same ideology that threatens the Judeo-Christian values of our nation. We need to pray against the plans of the enemy.
