 CUFI Washington Summit
In July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gathered in Washington DC to hear from American and Israeli key political and Christian leaders who came together to celebrate Israel and rally in support for the Jewish state.
God’s favour upon CUFI in America was demonstrated by the number of US Senators and Congressmen and women who attended the event. Not out of duress, but because they wanted to be part of this important movement.
We thank God for this amazing blessing upon CUFI in the US, and we pray that CUFI in the UK will be able to have impact in our nation in the future.
We hope you enjoy reading some of the excerpts from these powerful speeches.

Prime Minister of Israel
Prime Minister Netanyahu joined CUFI via satellite link, where CUFI’s founder Pastor John Hagee was able to speak with the Prime Minister and ask him a series of questions.
“I want to greet all of you from Jerusalem, the eternal undivided capital of Israel. It will never be divided again,” Netanyahu declared to rapturous applause from the CUFI audience.
“Pastor Hagee, I want to thank you for your enduring, tremendous support. For decades, you’ve been leading the effort to strengthen support for Israel within the Christian community. I remember when you began. Once you were one of a handful of brave voices in the wilderness. Thanks to your leadership, now there are millions and millions of devout Christians who stand with Israel.”
“I want to thank you on behalf of all the people of Israel and I want to thank the thousands of you who have come to Washington from across America to stand with Israel. You came to Washington DC, and I salute you from Jerusalem

DC – Jerusalem, David’s Capital,” he said to loud cheers and applause.
The Prime Minister spoke about the threat of Iran and commended the US for taking a strong stand against the Islamist regime. He also commended Britain for their role in recent months with the tanker situations and urged Europe to align itself with the US and end their involvement in the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal. ................................................................................. Danny Danon
Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Ambassador Danon has been a strong advocate for Israel at the United Nations and a friend
of CUFI. He spoke during the Night to Honour Israel in Washington, saying:
“Coming from the UN, when I see a large hall with people coming to speak about Israel, usually it is a bad sign, but here it is exactly the opposite. We have so many friends of Israel, so many ambassadors for Israel.”
The Ambassador explained that “Israel represents 0.1% of the world’s population, but Israel receives 78% of the UN’s condemnations.”
He emphasised, “Not Yemen, not Syria, Not Iran, not North Korea, but Israel.”
He explained how this highlights the bias of the United Nations and the importance of Christians to stand with Israel and against this hatred.
Danon, who is Jewish, recognised the connection between Judaism and Christianity. He even quoted from John 15:34 in the New Testament.
Ambassador Danon said: “The Lord our God teaches, and I quote, ‘Love one another as I have loved you so you must love one another’. Let us continue to love the state of Israel. Let us continue to support each other as keepers of the Holy Land and fighters against anti-Semitism. Let us continue to have strength and use it to defend our values. Let us continue to love our tradition, our faith and our faith-given land of Israel. And let us fight for it with all our love and might. With God’s help, we will prevail.” ................................................................................. Irving Roth
Holocaust survivor
Irving Roth is a great friend of CUFI. A Holocaust survivor who has led CUFI tours to Auschwitz and has spoken at over 700 CUFI events in the last 11 years in the United States. CUFI’s leadership has had to tell him to only speak at 2 events per day to try and slow him down!
Irving shared his story of surviving
Auschwitz, where all of his siblings were killed. He spoke of how his parents survived because a Christian family hid his mother and father, saving their lives so they could be reunited after the war.
To conclude his talk, Irving explained that the Jewish people are no longer defenceless, and that Christians are once again on the side of the Jewish people.
“Today is different. It is 2019 and the Jewish people have a land. They have a state, an army and an air force. They’re solidly in control of their destiny”, he declared.
“But my friends, it’s not enough,” he said solemnly, before explaining the important role CUFI plays in defending Israel.
“You have committed yourself to making sure that the evil doers of this world don’t destroy the state of Israel.
“It is with great thanks that I come to you. Continue your fight. Let’s stand together, let’s be encouraged by what’s going on not discouraged... with the help of God, Am Yisrael Chai, the Jewish people and humanity will be saved through you.” ................................................................................. Dennis Prager
Radio host, writer, founder PragerU
Dennis Prager is a Jewish American radio talk show host who founded PragerU, an online video channel that features former world leaders, university professors and politicians from various backgrounds. They are strong advocates of Israel and have over one billion views on YouTube.
“I spoke two weeks ago at the European Parliament. Somehow I feel more kindred spirit here than I did there.
“I never patronise an audience. To say that you are more important than the European Parliament comes from the depths of my soul and my heart. I just want you to know that. You are shaping the world for the good.”
Prager spoke on anti-Semitism and how the work CUFI is doing to expose this hatred is so important.
“Anti-Semitism is the greatest evil early warning system that there is in the world. The moment you see Jew hatred, and in our time that means Israel hatred, you know all you need to know about the morality of the people who are espousing that.”
Prager went on to explain how British Prime Minister Winston Churchill understood this, becoming the only leader in Europe in the 20s and 30s to pinpoint that “there is no chance for peace in Europe because Hitler hates the Jews”.
“Churchill was right, anti-Semitism is all
