CMPF Valor Awards
At the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s annual Valor Awards, eight officers were recognized during a luncheon at the Chicago Sports Museum located at Harry Caray’s 7th Inning Stretch Restaurant on Oct. 26.
Awards were given to Officers Leo Augle, Colin Ryan, Martin Hernandez, Joel Lopez, Victoria Mendoza, David Perez, Michael Hudson and Patrick Forbes.
The four pairs of partners were each involved in incidents where an offender pulled a gun and fired at officers, several of whom were wounded and one who took a bullet to his protec- tive vest.
“I’m glad we got to go home that night,” Hudson said — echo- ing a sentiment likely shared by the other officers — in a CPMF awards video.d
