1 th District Of cer uan Dia is forever the hero of Erin Panico. Out of concern for Panico s safety, Dia removed her from her home during a domestic dispute when the girl was 13 months old. She waited nearly four years to be adopted, and when it happened, she made sure to thank Dia and all Chicago of cers for their compassion.
