Kudos to Old Crow Smokehouse for supporting our mission
A huge debt of gratitude is owed to the folks at the Old Crow Smokehouse (149 W. Kinzie St.), who last month hosted an enormous fund-
raiser party for the Police Chaplains Minis-
try (PCM).
Attendees enjoyed great food, top-shelf
drinks and terrific entertainment, includ-
ing the Emerald Society and famous comedi-
an Tom Dreesen (who opened for Frank Sinatra for 15 years), along with the good company of sev-
eral hundred PCM supporters.
The owner of the Old Crow didn’t charge us a dime. All pro-
ceeds went to our mission: ministering 24/7 to our active and retired sworn and civilian members and supporting our be- loved Gold Star Families. When looking for a restaurant/bar to patronize downtown, please keep the Old Crow Smokehouse in mind.
Special thanks to all who put this event together, led by chairpersons Detective Gia DiVito (A/N) and Lieutenant Tom Cronin (018).
lain Bob Montelongo (773-459-5089), Chaplain Joe Jackson (312-771-6684), Chaplain Hysni Selenica (312-771-6692), Chaplain Kimberly Lewis-Davis (312-771-6638), Rabbi
Moshe Wolf (773-463-4780) and me (773-550-2369).
All of these numbers (also listed in your FOP directo- ry under “Chaplains”) are cellphones and receive text messages. You can also email us via the chaplains’ web-
site.
On our “Links” page, you’ll find a program offered by the
Archdiocese of Chicago for couples who need to strengthen their marriage. The program, called Retrouvaille, has saved countless marriages. I have heard from officers who have par- ticipated in it and they can’t say enough about this wonderful ministry. Visit our website or find it directly at www.helpour- marriage.org.
Finally, do you use Amazon.com? Please designate the Police Chaplains Ministry Fund as your Amazon Smile charity and our vital ministry will receive .5 percent of your purchases at no cost to you. It’s a great (and painless) way to support the Police Chaplains Ministry.
Thank you for supporting our vital work as we support yours.

      FATHER DAN BRANDT
At a star ceremony at the academy last month, I had the plea- sure of blessing the brand-new stars of many of Lodge 7’s new- est members. Above, PPOs Anthony Colucci, Eric Wojciechows- ki and Brendan Shine gather for a photo with me.
Congratulations to these three and their classmates as they embark on the noblest profession this world knows.
The Brotherhood for the Fallen is again hosting its Blue Tie Gala on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Hyatt Rosemont. I once again have the honor of hosting this event. We’ve sold out in previous years, so get your tickets soon.
