“It means a lot to me [to participate]. I have children,” Sixth District Officer Mike Gadzinska noted. “I have a family. If some- thing like this happened, God forbid, to me, I would be very thankful, and I would look down upon all the good things the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation does for these people.”
For 22nd District Officer Monica Richardson, seeing the sup- port flowing among the officers and families made her happy.
“Doing something like this for the family helps keep their spirits up,” she added. “Situations like this always make you grateful you get home at night.”
