The Underwood case
We are waiting to see if the Illinois Supreme Court will take up the Underwood case. As soon as
the payment stopped. He was concerned that many retired members are on Medicare and working jobs where they are having Medicare deducted and they shouldn’t be. If this is
happening to you, please call Social Security. Bond court
Kim Foxx has replaced the bond court judges to put in place people who can carry out her wishes of I Bonds for everyone except those accused of murder. I thought judges were supposed to be unbiased and rule on the let- ter of the law, without outside influences. Right now, we have felony shoplifters who fight with security guards and the po- lice — and they get I Bonds. I hope that after the first felony case in which the offender gets an I Bond and then goes out and shoots someone, the media calls for her head. You can pretty much commit any crime short of murder and there are no con- sequences. This is a recipe for disaster and makes you wonder
why we are arresting these offenders at all.
I want to take a minute to thank Kathy Moore for all the help

I think I speak for most members in expressing our gratitude to a person who has helped so many over the years she has worked for the FOP. She was and will always be one of us. God bless and good luck with the next chapter of your life. d

owe anything for 2015, so they asked the o
judge if they can work on 2016 first because they believe there has been an overpayment for that year. Judge Cohen said yes, as long as they get the money out to the members. The judge then asked the City about the Pension Fund Audit, and the City said it has not finished it as of yet. Judge Cohen continued the case until Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. and told the City that if it doesn’t have the report by that date, he will hold the City in contempt of court. We will see.
Medicare
I talked to a retired member who is on Medicare and work- ing for the aviation department. He said that they were taking Medicare out of his payroll check. Since he is on Medicare, it didn’t seem right that he had to pay into Medicare. He started calling and found that you have to call Social Security to have
