Shop with a Cop a hit in the 14th
The smile on Officer Martita Cervant- es’ face said it all as she stood in the checkout lane with local children during the 14th District’s annual Shop with a Cop event on Dec. 9.
Cervantes and other officers shopped till they dropped at the Target store in Lo- gan Square with 20 kids.
“Today is one of our favorite days of the year!” Officer Tom McNamara said in a tweet on the district’s social media ac- count. “We had a great day shopping for gifts with these amazing kids!”

Officers in the 20th District spent Dec. 15 spreading hope at the 30th An- nual Holiday for Hope celebration at the Broadway Armory. The festival, put on by Dreams for Kids, allowed more than 1,200 homeless and disadvantaged chil- dren and their families to spend the af- ternoon eating, dancing, making crafts and spending time with others as a way to enjoy the holiday season.
