ThirdVice President’s Report
Health Fair and retiree insurance update
On July 25, the last of the three FOP-sponsored Health Fairs took place in the 016th District. Near- ly 70 members took advantage of this free health screening provided by Knapp Medical Center. A special thank you to the 16th District’s CAPS office, as well as Maureen and her staff from Knapp Med- ical, for providing our members with a compre- hensive medical screening. Members could then bring the results to their primary care physicians. Dates for 2019 will be announced as soon as they
are confirmed.
On Wednesday, Oct. 17, flu shots will be available at the Lodge
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. These flu shots are free to our members, both active and retired, so save the date!
Recently, the Health and Insurance Committee met and vot- ed to extend the agreement with Aetna for an additional two years as an option for our retired members who have reached Medicare age. Please see the letter from Labor First that ex- plains the costs to our members that opt for this insurance plan.
