ger are the most common access points for hackers, fol-
lowed by email.
• Check your mobile device settings, and never allow your
device to automatically log in to a public network. You can be passing a different location of the same retail chain, be logged in automatically and immediately ex- pose yourself to a hacker.
• Never insert a flash drive or disc that you found — or one promising discounts or service — into your device. A hacker might have planted it, and as soon as you use it, the hacker has access to your device.
• Log out of all accounts once you are done using them.
• Keep your mobile device software current to avoid in-
fections by viruses or malware.
• Obtain a Virtual Private Network (VPN), your best pro-
tection. Everything you transmit from your mobile phone, laptop or tablet is encrypted on all public net- works. You can obtain a VPN through Norton Security for as little as $4.99 a month in your FOP Benefits Plan. Go to your FOP Benefits Plan website link below; click on Shopping & Discounts/Retail Discounts/Norton Se- curity/Wi-Fi Protection. Receive $40 off for five-device protection; you pay only $39 for the year for five mobile devices.
Registration for the FOP Benefits Plan for FOP members and family is free. Visit www.fopbenefitsplan.com or call 866-729-5454 for assistance with registering. d
