Naomi Shimanuki mda, daca is a member of SDP. Her home studio is called Studio 703. Naomi has won many awards, including the DACA Joan Johnson Award of Excellence, and her first- place award paintings are in the permanent collection of the DAC museum. One of Naomi’s pieces was displayed at Louvre museum.
She has supervised a Tole Painting Curriculum Course which Japan authorized, is an accredited
teacher of the Japan Handicraft Instructors Association (JHIA), and supervised a Lacquer Painting Curriculum Course by Art Craft Co. Ltd. She is a DecoArt Helping Artist and Silk Thread
Art General Teacher. Naomi’s work has been selected for the SDP permanent collection; she has been an SDP Conference teacher as well as an SDP Design Committee member. She has worked as a judge at contest, was invited for seminar in Taiwan, and has published “Victorian Painting,” two textbooks and 350 pattern-packets with her own elegant style. Now a lot of her works and lessons are introduced in Japanese painting magazines and also teaching the color theory and color pencil designs.
