June Birt, SDP member since 1995 and past member of Tucson Decorative Painters Guild, passed away in September 2014. She resided in Tucson, Ariz.
Elsie L. Bourdeaudhui, SDP member since 1981, passed away in November 2014. She was a founding member of Brevard Brush Strokes in Melbourne, Fla., and a member of Missile Tole Decorative Painters in Titusville, Fla. She resided in Melbourne Beach, Fla.
Alta Bradberry, SDP member since 1992, passed away in April 2014. She resided in Pell City, Ala.
Barbara Buttram, SDP member since 1981, passed away in January 2014. She was a member of the Tulsa Town Tolers chapter in Tulsa, Fla. She resided in Broken Arrow, Okla.
Nancy Cooprider, SDP member since 2011, passed
away in December 2014. She was a member of Florida Suncoast Decorative Artists in Tampa, Fla. She resided in Brandon, Fla.
Georgia J. Feazle of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2014. She was born in Houston, Texas, and was well known as a talented artist and instructor whose sense of humor still touches our hearts today. People in the industry kept asking Georgia to write a book of instructions for her specialty “Rub Out Painting.” Once published,
the first printing of her book “So You Can’t Draw a Straight Line” sold out quickly. Georgia went on to publish thirty various decorative art books. She traveled extensively, teaching seminars and demonstrating her craft at trade shows. She even went as far as Okinawa
to teach decorative painting to military wives. Georgia was a popular guest on many TV shows and appeared
in six shows with Bob Ross for PBS. Georgia was a member of Society of Decorative Painters since 1974. She was a proud and hardworking member of the Decorative Artists of Texas, Ladybugs, and other clubs in the Houston area. She taught every chance she got, and her creative spirit never left her. Georgia Feazle was a talented artist, but more than that–she was generous, caring, sharing, and fun. She leaves us all with wonderful memories, and she did it with her usual style and grace. We will cherish having known her.
