FINISHING
Allow the paint to dry thoroughly. Clean
the surface, making sure to remove all graphite
lines. I use Martin/F. Weber Turpenoid on a paper tow- el or a cotton swab. Prepare the surface for varnishing with a coat of Jo Sonja’s Clear Glaze Medium. This gives the surface the tooth it needs for the varnish to adhere.
When dry, apply three coats of varnish. I like to use water+Jo Sonja’s Polyure- thane Matte+Satin Varnish (2:1:1). Adding water will allow the varnish to brush on very smoothly. Be sure to let the varnish cure well (at least twenty-four hours) before handling your piece. It will cure completely in two weeks. Enjoy!
