President’s Letter
Dear fellow SDP members,
We have arrived at the time of year when we can enjoy the holidays. We’ve been looking forward to it for a while, spending countless hours with brushes in hand painting beautiful, creative projects to add a bit of ourselves to our seasonal décor or the gifts that we are giving.
From holiday parties to dinners with family and friends, the activities of this season tend
to bring us back to our roots. It is in that reflective mode that I offer my personal thanks to each and every one of you for being part
of our community. Some members have been with the Society since the beginning, while
others are new and excited to get involved. You all are the reason why our painting heritage remains strong and healthy.
As President of the Board of Directors, I am jazzed about the future! We have a dedicated and talented staff. The Board hired Jennifer Arnold as Executive Director in August and we have been working together to develop a strategic roadmap for the Society’s growth and success at both the international and chapter levels. We also appointed new Committee members, who consist of member volunteers from around the world and support a number of the Society’s programs. With new leadership and contributors come new ideas and fresh perspectives that will help us build an optimistic tomorrow.
As we say goodbye to 2017 and launch ourselves into the New Year, let me take some time to wish each of you the best during this season of celebrations.
