■ Enameled coffee pot is available at local stores or thrift shops.
■ Pebeo Porcelaine 150 paint is available from Dick Blick; WWW.DICKBLICK.COM.
I
The paints that I am using in Japan are called Porcelaine 150 by Pebeo Co. You can get them in the United States as well as in Europe. You may use equivalent paints by other suppliers.
This particular product gives you a very nice variety of colors and is easily stabilized by a kitchen oven.
PREPARATION
Please remove any lint and moisture from surface before painting. By using kitchen vinegar, you can easily take off oils and fingerprints.
Trace the guidelines very lightly onto the surface. You should not use any waxed transfer paper. If your traced lines are too dark, you can lighten them by using tissue paper.
Lightly pat over the design with a piece of tissue; other- wise, it is difficult to erase the trace lines after painting.
I would recommend that you freehand the guidelines with a highligher. If you need to wipe off the guidelines after painting, apply dry tissue – never a wet one.

have enjoyed painting on enameled ware such as ket- tles, plates and cups recently. And I have been using them by myself for everyday life. I think that is the ori- gin of decorative painting.
