PEAR STEP 1
PEARS
STEP 1: Using a no. 6 chisel shader with Cadmium Yel- low Pale, paint the pears using a crisscross technique. Next, paint the right side of the pears with Yellow Ochre and the left side with Lemon Yellow. Work with a small amount of paint thinned with turpentine.
STEP 2: Paint the center of the pears with Yellow Ochre+Lemon Yellow (1:1) using the crisscross technique. Apply Yellow Ochre only on the shadowy areas of the pears and on their contour.
STEP 3: Paint the darkest shadows using the no. 6 shader with Yellow Ochre+Raw Sienna (1:1). Highlight the light areas with Titanium White+Lemon Yellow (1:tch).
STEP 4: Using the no. 1 round brush with Burnt Umber, paint the lines of the sepal (the nub on the bottom of the pear) and highlight it with Titanium White.
STEP 2
   To form the brown, rust-like staining on the pears, first use Burnt Sienna and then Burnt Umber. Using the liner brush with Burnt Umber paint tiny irregular lines in the shape of a cobweb.
DRAWING OF PEAR
Use the no. 3 round
brush to paint the pears’
stem with Burnt Umber+Burnt Sienna (1:1). Highlight the stems with Burnt Umber+TitaniumWhite (1:tch).
With horizontal strokes, paint the pears’ cast shadow using the no. 8 shader with Burnt Umber.
